Κοντά στο σπίτι υπάρχει ένας μικρός συνοικιακός φούρνος. Τον έχει μια οικογένεια μεταναστών τόσα πολλά χρόνια που ίσως πια να μην θυμάται κανείς πως αυτοί οι άνθρωποι δεν είναι από εδώ και κάποια γιορτινή μέρα να ξεχαστεί και φιλικά να τους ρωτήσει αν θα φύγουν στο χωριό για τριήμερο.
Σήμερα το βράδυ όπως κατηφόριζα από ένα στενάκι του Λυκαβηττού προς το σπίτι, τα φώτα του φούρνου ήταν τα μόνα που φώτιζαν τον δρόμο. Απόρησα που ήταν ανοιχτό αυτή την ώρα αφού οι φούρνοι ανοίγουν πολύ πρωί και τα βράδια είναι πολύ σπάνια ανοιχτοί. Και μια φιγούρα να στέκεται απ έξω και να κοιτάζει μέσα. Μερικά μέτρα πριν φτάσω στην βιτρίνα του είδα έναν άνθρωπο να μπαίνει μέσα. Ήταν φανερά χαρούμενος. Από περιέργεια έκανα πιο αργό το βήμα μου και σχεδόν αδιάκριτα προσπάθησα να δω την συνέχεια. Ο φούρναρης έβαζε όλες τις τυρόπιτες και όλα τα ψωμάκια που του είχαν μείνει σε μια σακούλα. Δεν μπόρεσα να μείνω άλλο αλλά μέχρι να φτάσω σπίτι πρόλαβα να φανταστώ τον φούρναρη να βάζει στην σακούλα και ένα μπουκάλι γάλα και μερικά κουλούρια και μερικά κομμάτια κέικ.
